Epigenetics intro;
It was the first human evidence that something other than genes passed between generations, something that can control genes directly, switch them on and off while epigenome provides instructions and regulates the functional aspects of all genes.
So what causes epigenetic changes??
_ Stress harmone can cause epigenetic changes,that is during stressful situations we produce steroid harmones called glucocorticoids mediated by HPA(Hypothalamic pitutary adrenal axis) alter gene expression in the brain.
_ Nutrition; poor nutrition during person's childhood can cause epigenetic changes that inturn leads to diabetes,obesity and early puberty.
Epigenetic research;
Current research tells that environmental toxicants such as jet fuel,plastics exposures,pesticides can cause epigenetic transgenerational inheritance of diseases (such as reproductive diseases, obesity etc...) in later generations i.e.. ancestral exposures.
This is a non-genetic form of inheritance not involving DNA sequence but environmental impacts on DNA chemical modifications.
This is a non-genetic form of inheritance not involving DNA sequence but environmental impacts on DNA chemical modifications.
Conclusion;
The future of epigenetics will reveal the complexities of gene regulation,cellular differentiation,embryology,cancer,aging and other diseases and it has greater impact on public health..
